The Hell's Canyon SPEED bolt-action rifle features a composite stock with high textured grip panels and a Cerakote® burnt bronze-finished, free-floated, and fluted stainless steel barrel. An Inflex Technology™ recoil pad keeps the buttstock firmly in place, and reduces recoil along with the threaded muzzle brake for greater control on follow-up shots. Browning's Feather Trigger enhances potential accuracy by providing a clean, crisp pull with no take-up and minimum overtravel. The X-Bolt bolt-action rifle also features a glass-bedded steel receiver that's drilled and tapped for attaching scope mount. X-Lock scope mounts secure scopes at all base corners using 4 screws, instead of just 2 in traditional mounts. 3 locking lugs provide exceptional strength and a short 60° bolt lift that cycles smooth and fast, while keeping a wide margin of space between your hand and the scope sight as you work the action. A detachable, rotary magazine feeds cartridges directly in-line with the chamber, instead of feeding offset as with conventional magazines. The Browning X-Bolt also features a top-tang safety with bolt unlock button that allows you to open the bolt for loading or inspection with the tang safety in the safe position.
