The Walther PK380 is a hammer-fired, semi-automatic handgun chambered in .380 ACP Locked-Breech Design. This model is famous for a slide that requires very little force to pull back, making it a top choice for shooters with smaller hands or limited hand strength. Unlike most .380 pistols that use simple blowback, the PK380 uses a Browning-type tilt-barrel short-recoil system. This design significantly reduces felt recoil, making it exceptionally "soft-shooting". The polymer frame is styled after the larger Walther P99 and includes a full three-finger grip that provides better control than typical pocket-sized .380s. The pistol lacks a lever to drop the slide. To chamber a round after it locks back on an empty magazine, the user must manually pull back and release the slide. The manual safety blocks the firing pin but does not act as a decocker. Interestingly, the trigger can still be pulled and the hammer will fall while the safety is engaged, though the gun will not fire.
