You'll never question your rod's power and durability, as long as you fish a PENN® Ally™ II Boat Conventional Rod. Built expressly for offshore saltwater fishing, this beast can take the punishment dealt by big, hard fighting fish, and give it right back. Features vary by model, but all are built on a powerful E-glass blank for incredible toughness and resiliency, and have non-slip EVA grips made to outlast prolonged sun and spray without sacrificing a secure hold. Select models may feature rugged Seaguide PVD stainless steel guides with zirconium inserts, and/or PacBay® machined-aluminum roller guides placed in high-stress areas for reduced line friction. Depending on model, your rod will be fitted with either a non-corrosive aluminum Seaguide® HBS reel seat or a Seaguide DBS reel seat. Also: PacBay aluminum butt section, PENN Slick Butt, and/or aluminum gimbal (select models).
