Ultralight wading boots with enhanced features make them even lighter without sacrificing stability. The nylon/synthetic uppers are built on a top-notch last with a base that accommodates a wide variety of foot widths. Rugged uppers sport the added scuff and abrasion resistance of our Wade Guard™ on the toes and heels. High-density felt soles include optional studs that screw into the rubber cavities for those moments when extra grip is needed. High-stress areas are reinforced with double or triple stitching. Side mesh panels let water drain, but keep out sediment. Molded EVA midsoles. Imported. Height: 8-1/2". Average weight: 2.4 lbs./pair. Women’s whole sizes: 6-10. Color: Brown Olive.
Purchased these for a 2-week trip to Alaska, my first wading boots. I got a size 10 for my size 8.5 feet. With my waders, I also wore 2 pair of socks, one light weight and one heavy, I even inserted my foot orthotics for more comfort when walking. Mine do not have felt soles, I did use the studs and did not slip at all walking in freestone water with both small and large rocks that had a little slime on the rocks, and also some boot-sucking mud. In addition to 7-8 hours daily fishing and light hiking, I hiked about 4 miles one day, and 6 miles the next, through stream and tundra, and the boots were comfortable. Good price, good boots for a first pair.
5 stars for traction: Felt soles with screw-in studs absolutely will not slip--even on slick, agae-covered rocks in the tropics.
1 star for durability: Overall boot condition seriously deteriorated within about 2 weeks of hard use. By the end of 2 month trip there was absolutely nothing left of them (holes in uppers, heel ripped out, etc.). Good thing Cabela's has a decent return policy.
These are probably okay for "weekend warriors" who will only use them a few times each season and only walk a short distance from the truck to the stream.
Not at all recommended for intense excursions/ longer trips.
