Good year round jacket!

I needed a jacket for rainy AK the summer of 2008. I was to be in the state from May to September of that yr. I needed a light-weight jacket with a hood to wear as I only owned a super-heavy jacket, with no hood, at the time. I forget what I paid for it back then, but I have definitely gotten my money's worth. I wear it mostly Sept through March, here in IN, and it is decent enough to be worn alone or with bulky sweaters underneath it. I purchased a large and it fit me great no matter what way I wore it. I wore it for 4 days straight in NYC at Thanksgiving. My mother and I were in the pouring rain watching the Macy's parade balloons being inflated and also a few hrs at the Statue of Liberty in the wind. The jacket held up wonderfully. Its hood is removable, though I've always worn the jacket with the hood attached. It is machine washable as well. I especially like the inside pocket. While in NYC I did not carry a purse the entire time we walked around and the inside pocket was nice for storing a wallet and cellphone so it wouldn't get lost or stolen from an outer pocket. The things I dislike about this jacket are the double zipper feature, which tends to get stuck, and also the color choices. I purchased the green color and I had a friend jokingly tell me it was ugly. I would recommend this jacket to anyone in need of a light-weight wind and rain-proof jacket.

Great for Spring

The Catalina Jacket is perfect for spring weather in the Northwest. Lightweight lining keeps me warm on our cool days--while jacket blocks the wind and rain.

From the example in the catalog, I thought the jacket would flare out a little at the hips where, like most women, I am the widest. The jacket I received had no extra room in the hips and, as a result was too tight. The rest of the jacket, especially across the shoulders, is way too big, so big you can barely see my eyes above the collar. That said, the jacket seems to be well made. Never got it outside so no notes on it's ability to repel rain.

Perfect jacket

Fit is good and enough room to wear with a fleece jacket underneath for colder weather. Took on a trip to Europe and was the only jacket I needed for rain or shine. I like having the inside pocket for cell phone, cash and credit cards. It was a very good purchase for me.
