HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED-BUT HAS POTENTIAL
Date:
I had such high hopes for this parka. I am in the field EVERY DAY from September to December from dawn til dusk. I have been looking for women's waterfowl gear for years...and note to all waterfowl clothing manufacturers, we are 1. NOT small men, or 2. NOT large children. We are women. We have curves. And we deserve the same quality and sheer volume of choices for hunting clothing as men have! I got a lot of compliments on the parka regarding it's appearance. It does look good. However, it runs small....don't put it in the dryer if it actually fits when you get it. It sucks up every ounce of water it finds. I hunted in the rain one day, and we went to breakfast afterward and I was exhausted. My friend peeled my parka off of me, and said, "NO WONDER YOU'RE TIRED! THIS THING WEIGHS 30 POUNDS!" It was wet from the inside out. So I was quite chilled. I can't believe any clothing marketed for waterfowl hunting (mossy oak DUCK BLIND) would NOT have any waterproofing). Also, the shell cuffs are annoying. The zippers stick. I do, however, LOVE all of the pockets! The sleeve pocket was perfect for keeping all of my licenses and permits safe and at my finger tips if a warden came to do a field inspection. The liner is engineered far more superior to the shell. The hood fell into my face all the time and it was hard to keep it on my head in the wind. It's really sad, because I was SO excited to get this parka. I hope that Cabela's will take all of these reviews into consideration and modify the product...because it's got serious potential!

Have had this jacket for about a month and it does run small had to get two sizes larger. I wore it in the rain and the cuffs acted like wicks, all in all not too bad but why cant there be hunting gear that is as good as the mens and with more of a selection!

Not worth the cost
Date:
This coat runs extremely small. If you plan on wearing the liner, do not plan on raising your arms. The outer shell makes a swishing sound (which annoyed my husband). I am an avid hunter who spends hours hiking/hunting in the woods. I typically avoid women's hunting clothing because it tends to be 'fitted'. This coat fit that description.I like to be able to move freely while hunting so for now I will continue to purchase kids & mens hunting clothing.
I had my camera in one of the chest pockets and it had A LOT of condensation on it. I have never had that occur with any other hunting clothing while hunting for deer, elk, antelope or waterfowl.
This coat found its way back to the store.

Buy if you want to experience an outdoor sauna

Loved it in the store. I was really excited when I bought this jacket. It doesn't have an inner jacket that gathers at the hips and rides up (like most men's parkas seem too) It fit really well and I thought that it would be a really nice duck/goose hunting jacket.
Too bad its just another women's hunting jacket that fails in some regard. Why? It is not breathable at all. I spent about 4-5 hours in a ground blind in 45 degree partly cloudy weather and by the time our hunt was over the inside of my jacket was dripping. Every single droplet of moisture was captured by this jacket. I returned it with no problems.
. why doesn't someone make a women's jacket with GORE-TEX or Dry Plus??? Again, like another reviewer said... still hunting for women's gear that actually works...
