I purchased these boots for a recent trip to South Africa. My boyfriend warned me to break them in before we left, but I didn't get much opportunity to do that. I was a little concerned because I was only going to be bringing one other pair of shoes with me - if these weren't comfy I was going to be miserable! Not to worry!! We did a LOT of walking over mostly flat terrain with lots of trees, shrubs and tall grass in the bushveld and let me say, THESE BOOTS ARE GREAT! They're sturdy, stable, I didn't get blisters and I found them to be perfect for what we were doing. They were so comfortable I even opted to wear them on the days we did side activities rather than wear the other pair of shoes I brought! I wore Cabela's polyester liner socks under my wool socks for moisture wicking - it was winter there so the mornings would start off cool but the temperatures warmed by late morning (temperatures could range from 35 degrees F to 75 on a given day!). We never encountered wet terrain or rainy days so I can't comment how they perform under those circumstances. I also ordered a half size up as other people have mentioned here. I heartily recommend these!!
I'm writing this review on behalf of my wife. I got these for her last Christmas at her request. After a summer of camping I'm glad to report that she likes them! They are rugged, keeps your feet dry, and the most important feature per my wife is that they are very comfortable.
These boots hold up great. I work outside and endure different terrain...lightweight and durable...and these take me from city sidewalks to rock climbing. I love them..comparable to Danner is many ways...but a fraction of the cost. This is my second time ordering these boots...I order 2 pair last year and another 2 this year. Well worth the money.
I really like these boots and the way they fit, but they are sized a little small. They were fine for shorter walks, but once I went on a more lengthy hike with a lot of downhill slopes, I realized they were just a tad too small and my toes suffered for it. However, I liked the boots so much I orderd another pair. I usually wear a size 8, but I ordered an 8 1/2. Can't wait to use them this summer!
