These pants are really good! The waist is where it belongs and my shirt stays tucked in. I like the small amount of elastic in the back as it makes the pants very comfortable. The pockets hold a wallet, cell phone, calendar, small note pad and pen, keys and coins and more. This frees up my hands and lets me hold everything I need without a purse. I like the choice of three colors. I would like to see a light stone color and a blue color brought back in the future. After many years and many, many washings I finally wore out my blue pair from years ago. The only thing that could make these pants better is free hemming like on the Trail Hiker pants. I am 5-5 and they are too long for me so I have been folding them up two times...better too long than capris is how I look at it. These are my favorite pants. Please keep making them.
I am perhaps obsessed with searching for great casual pants and jeans. I am tall, 5'9" and average weight. These trailhiker II pants are the best I've found over many many years and many many purchases. I like them better than the 7 pocket hiker pants. The 7 pocket pants are nice but the bellows pockets in front aren't terribly flattering. These trailhiker pants though with the big pockets on the side of the legs can hide cell phone, credit card, etc. easily so I often can leave the purse behind when going shopping. Love that. Please consider offering these in denim as well, my search for the perfect jeans would then be over.
I love the pants, however, the waist is too low for comfort and behind coverage. I have a curvy figure and need pants that offer full coverage in back and fitted at the waistline. Please bring back the former style of hiking pants for those who do not care for the Modern Fits. In my opinion Modern Fits are not comfortable and not practical for active wear or professional wear. I'll continue to wear my old Cabela's hiking pants and return the ones just received.
These are excellent pants; well made and stand up well to field work in all weather conditions. The pockets are very handy. A few years ago these pants were hemmed for free, a huge bonus. I have given the pants three stars due to the lack of choice for a higher waist, ie, the Hiker Fit. I am a biologist. My uniform is required to be at waist level, not one or two inches below as Authentic Fit and Modern Fit are styled. Unfortunately, Cabelas no longer offers these great pants in a Hiker Fit. A while ago, I ordered these pants and am putting up with the Authentic Fit. Below the waist pants are annoying - my uniform shirt doesn't stay tucked in while working. All the equipment hanging from my belt ends up swinging around like a belly dancer's tassels. For my hourglass shape, I appear "heavy" with Authentic or Modern Fits. I have a small waist and like to accent my figure. I only use them in winter and wear a sweatshirt to cover the lower fit . Please consider offering these great work pants (and the other similar styles) in Hiker FIt for those of us who use them every day for heavy work (and play!). Cabelas, how about helping us professional women?!
