Cabela's Women's Mountain Hiker® Light

Developed over a half century on the harshest trails and highest peaks, these hikers combine authentic European craftsmanship with the latest high-performance comfort technology. The Internal Midsole system eliminates rigid footbeds and puts feet directly in contact with the molded insoles, which offer a more secure fit that stops feet from slipping inside the boots. Their triple-layer AIR 8000® system is made with an exclusive microperforated fabric that’s 11% more breathable than conventional mesh. Rugged suede uppers are lined with waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX® XCR  membranes for all-weather endurance. Shock absorbing dual-density midsoles. Aggressive Vibram® Plume hiking outsoles for all-terrain traction. Imported.
Women’s sizes: 6-10 medium width. Half sizes to 10.

Solid Hiking Shoe

shoe handles long distance travel through rugged terrain. slip resistant for the most part on wet grounds and stands up to its "waterproof" label, walking through tall grass and mud puddles in moderate to heavy showers. Only four stars because there is a single downside: these shoes aren't very comfortable when packing heavy loads over long periods of time. otherwise these shoes are an awesome deal and sturdily constructed. :]

NEW! Cabela's Women's Mountain Hiker® Light
I purchased these hiking shoes online for my wife. The older version had high ratings and the description fit our needs. The ordering was easy and shipping was quick.
The hiking shoes look to be made very well. The fit was good/true to size.
These hiking shoes are stiff boots. No or little flex.
My wife got blisters on our first short in town hike. Our next several hikes she wore two pair of socks (one cotton & one wool) and bandages on her heal were she was getting the blisters. The blistering wasn\u2019t as bad but we tried hiking for two months now and she is still getting blisters. All our hiking the past few months has all been local easy trails for usually under two hours.
We returned them at a brick & mortar Cabela\u2019s and purchased Merrell® Women's Moab Mid-Height Hikers. She had to go a half size up with the Merrell hikers. Her toes were touching in her normal size 9 so she got 9 ½. These hiking shoes are very flexible, similar to a sneaker.
We went hiking twice with the Merrill\u2019s for two hour each time on the same trails and no blistering.
It would be nice if at every Brick & Mortar Cabela\u2019s have samples of all of their shoes, esp. Cabela\u2019s branded shoes.
I also would like to see on this website a description of shoes flexibility to help better choose the right shoes. This would cut down on returns!
