Living in Southeast Alaska means a lot of rainy days and, if you want to take advantage of our beautiful backyard, you have to have great rain gear. I've been through a lot of rain pants and these are the best. I wear a plus size and they are hard to come by, especially if you don't want to hem them. These keep me dry as a bone and are a good length. I even wear them skiing. Yes, it even rains when there is snow on the ground, and I am toasty warm with these. No leaking, no condensation, no gross-feeling fabric. Comfortable - they don't gap in the back. They feel like normal pants, enough so that I can forget that I have them on and just enjoy a day-long hike.

After 2 hours walking in the woods in driving rain this combo kept me 100% warm and dry. The pants covered the top of my hiking boots and acted as a water shed keeping the uppers of the boots dry. The only thing that got wet in the cold rain was my hands. I need to get some water repellent gloves that will fit under the jacket cuffs for total comfort.
Cannot rate this combo for the worst weather highly enough! With the side zip pants, getting out of the gear when back under shelter was a snap--correction-- two zips.
The pants fit very nicely and I really liked the zippers, but on a two week camping/canoe trip in Alaska, they were not waterproof, plain and simple. If I sat in water in the canoe, I was wet all day.
