This is a heavier weight version of our popular silk underwear to wear around the house or as an insulating base layer. The pants are made of 100% spun silk, and they sport interlock-knit construction. Machine washable. Imported. Sizes: S-2XL. Colors: Light Blue, Natural, Black, Atlantic.
Got these to wear around the house and to supplement my hunting gear. I have worn them twice hunting as my only layer under my rain gear and around the house as lounge pants many times. They are a bit bulky like stretch fleece and have a loose cut so loose fit pants are a plus for wearing them. They are warm and wick well. They do not fade bad or shrink, warp. Happy I got them.
So it's almost summer when I'm writing this, but other members of my household keep it chilly, so I really do appreciate these. I assume they'll be great in winter, too, given the slew of reviews on that fact.
These pants are VERY comfortable. The waistband is higher than most pants I wear, but it's intended as a base layer, so that's a good thing. The ankle cuffs are snug but not tight, and I have fairly large ankles. Definitely an under-sock cuff, though.
The knit is lightweight but strong, soft but feels very well-constructed. I would love to have another three pair of these.
On sizing: I'm 5'7", 140 lb, and Small fits exactly right. I was worried they'd be too short or tight, but they really feel amazing. However, more petite women might find Small a bit big. (It's absolutely worth the purchase anyway; take my word on that.)
On color: This isn't very important, but the light blue I got is less bright than I thought it would be, which (to me) is a good thing. I would feel completely comfortable wearing these as pajama pants around the house.
By the way, in case you're wondering. It's about seventy degrees in my house now. My toes are chilly, and under a blanket. The rest of me is comfortably warm, but not overheating at all. Great purchase!
Very substantial silk long underwear - I have used the thin silk underwear for years under my ski pants and they are SO flimsy. These are soft and comfy, but seem resistant to runs and pulls that put holes in my thinner longies. Haven't needed them much yet as it's been such a mild winter, but am looking forward to putting them to the test next winter.
