I had to buy tin because Mass ban lead as of 2012.
Tin is a little more costly so you get less for more money , thats ok . I bought quite a bit of tin split shot the beginning of the year . I found the smaller shot don't crimp on my line even with needle nose pliers . The weight of a #7 lead is more than the weight of the
#7 tin . I guess I'll get use to tin if I could only keep them from slipping down my line. I'm all in favor of protecting the Loons .

Don't get me wrong it will sink your bait, I wasn't a big fan of this split shot. I didn't like the split on it, I found it hard to get even 6lb lin into and I'm to use to my lead split shot.

Tin split shot is the best!
Date:
One overlooked side benefit of tin shot: it doesn't oxidize to a dull gray color like lead. Tin stays shiny and makes a very good attractor, especially for bass and panfish.

These tin sinkers are excellent. I live in NH where lead shot is illegat due to death of Loons. I wish that they made Jigheads out of tin also.
