Bought these to use for weighting down a tarp covering a Jeep I'm working on. They just the right weight to keep the tarp from blowing off but not so heavy that I can't fold back the tarp easily. Attatching one at each grommet gave me the perfect tarp for my Jeep. And much more attractive than cinder blocks! My neighbor liked it so much he just made himself a weighted tarp for the mustang he's working on.

I used these sinker balls to weigh down my yarn after spinning and dying it. Worked great. I also use a fishing line counter to measure the length of the yarn. Who would have thought fishing products would have been so helpful for my crafting???

they sink well

my last trip I used both cannonball and torpedo sinkers mainly 16 ounce both do the job but the cannonballs seemed to get down deep faster and having more surface on the ground allowed for feel of the bottom. I was fishing in about 250ft of water and felt the bottom move under the weight being round allowed the sinker to slip off of structure better than the torpedo sinkers with no snags at all. not snagging on rock ledges and reefs while fishing rock fish was great I will definitely be using the cannonbals on my next outing.
