The weights if pinched properly will hold on the line just fine. The problem is that it will slide some if not totally pinched- which the strongest of pliers will not accomplish-I am ok w/ that because that would be a lot of metal on my line which could produce cuts to line. I just add and pinch a split shot underneath it and there stops the slide . This trick has produced multiple Salmon hook-ups in my past. 3/4 bubber + #1 split shot. FISH ON BOYS.

I purchased an asst. size package of these rubber core sinkers and no matter how I twisted them on my line they continued to fly off during casts! I have used name brand rubber core sinkers that stayed on however these would not. The rubber core is very soft and pliable on the Cabelas brand whereas name brands are much firmer thus grabbing the line tightly.
