I am a knife collector and user. I have over 400 knives and have used each of them in the field. This knife had one problem when received. The gut hook stood out to far for my liking when closed. A little grinding took care of this minor problem. I have several "Bird Knives" and I consider this as one of the best. If not for the gut hook position when closed, I would have given it a 5 star plus!
I bought the upland model because it had both a choke wrench and a gut hook which are features I wanted but had trouble finding in other knives, unfortunately this knife appears to be very low quality. when closed the knife blade hits something inside the handle, which puts a dent right along the middle of the cutting edge. This knife is way overpriced.
I ordered this knife thinking it would be a great knife to carry to the duck blind. After receiving and inspecting, the knife is very rough and poorly made. I will keep it, but will probably live in my blind bag, as a backup knife in case I forget my regular knife.
