this is a good paddle for cheap just make sure you dont leave it to rot in the sun and recoat it with a watersealant as neccesary

Paddle works well in water, I advise that you buy 2 , one for a buddy to help you paddle. This paddle will move a small boat, act as a depht finder in 5ft or less of water, unless you have really long arms, and because it is made of 100% wood , it floats if you drop it in the water. It is great for the price and can also be used to scare off water snakes, bugs, and if you swing it around in a circle above your head and scream loudly it will also keep other fishermen from encroaching on your favorite spot.

Better than I expected (after reading the reviews). They did not need to be finished as I expected from other's comments. The paddles were great and great customer service from Cabela's too!
