The Caviness Kids' Series is a lightweight, economical paddle for young kayakers.
Blade dimensions: 6-1/8"W x 14"L.
Shaft diameter: 1-1/8".
Lengths: 5 ft. (Model 50), 6 ft. (Model 60).
Color: Yellow blade with Black shaft.
I bought the 6 Ft, Model 60. My 7 year old had trouble with water dripping down the shaft, since there are no drip-rings. Also the paddles are flat with no 'scoop' to them, which makes it harder to push the water. I think over all, that the shortest of the adult paddles would have been the better choice. I switched paddles with him, and he did much better and enjoyed himself after using the regular adult paddle.
...but could have been better. I bought this paddle for my daughters to share (5 and 10 y.o.) and while the length was ok, the diameter of the handle should have been much smaller to accomodate smaller hands. I did not measure, but I would be willing to bet that it is every bit as large as an adult paddle. One other gripe, the paddles themselves have no curvature as a kayak paddle would customarily have, they're just flat, similar to a boat paddle.
