Very Happy With Purchase!
Date:
This filter is built to last and works great! It is somewhat on the heavy side. So wouldn't be my first choice for backpacking.

Just my opinion
Date:
This is a quality product. It is a little on the expensive side but worth it compared to the other ones on the market. No plastic nipples on the water inlet and outlet to break if dropped. The case is cheap and the zipper's stitching came apart. I picked up a padded case in the auto section at Cabela's that was for storing a trailer hitch. I was able to store 2 water bottles and the filter in it. Case was not expensive. Good for 2 people on a trip. I used it during a camping trip for 4 people. This was pushing the limit of this filter in terms of time to filter the water. It takes hundreds of pumps to fill a gallon. Took about 20 minutes to fill a gallon jug. When the filter became hard to pump I just cleaned it with the supplied pad. Real easy to clean. It preformed like new again.

Mine completely fell apart
Date:
I've used the Katadyn Pocket Filter for about 8 years. It worked fine until this year when the filter element completely fell apart on the first day of a week long backpacking trip rendering it useless. I probably filtered 5 gallons per year and always took care of the filter so it didn't even come close to its advertised lifespan. Katadyn customer service has been absolutely no help. I won't waste my money on any more Katadyn products after the complete failure of this filter.
