Katadyn Hiker Water Microfilter

The only thing more important than staying light on your feet during a long hike is staying properly hydrated with clean, bacteria-free water. Now any water source you pass can be a place to refill your water bottles and canteens without hauling a heavy, bulky water-purifying system. These lightweight filters pack away compactly into your gear and deliver up to one quart of water per minute. Weighing only 11 ounces and measuring only 6-1/2" high, the hiker is one of the easiest filters to operate on the market. The 129 square inches of pleated 0.3 micron glassfiber filtration media grabs particles and holds them tight while permitting clean water to pass. Includes prefilter, universal bottle adapter and carry bag. You get 1 quart per minute/200-gallons of life per cartridge. Replacement cartridges are available.

This is an excellent product. Much better than older generation water purifiers. This product pumps water on both in and out strokes and fills a water bottle quickly. I highly recommend.

The Katadyn Hiker Water Microfilter is second to none. Both myself and my father had an older version and trekked numerous mountains and trout streams; never once had an issue with workmanship or quality of water from Katadyn... also compact and lightweight compared to filters in its class. I decided to update, and could not be happier with the 'Hiker'... same great quality as the previous version and look forward to many successful trips ahead... May just end up purchasing a second one...

Quick and easy

Pumps easy and purifies a quart or gallon of water in a minimal amount of time. Haven't used it in any real nasty water for fear of destroying the filter. Replacement filters aren't cheap.
