Luminox Blackout Watch

Originally developed for the Navy SEALs, the self-sustaining illumination glows continuously for 25 years without draining batteries or requiring sunlight. Its black-on-black face features microgas dots on the hands, bezel and hour marks for bright visibility at night. Carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer 44mm case, rotating bezel and case back. Genuine Swiss quartz movement. Hardened mineral glass crystal. Stainless steel crown. Polymer 23mm-thick strap. Water-resistant to 200 meters.
Case diameter: 1.73".

Each Luminox watch employs tiny self-powered, microgas lights in the hands and dial for high visibility. Guaranteed to glow for 10 years, they require no external light source to charge them, and there’s no need to push a button to light the dial.

I lost my previous LumiNox after about 10 years of everyday use, decided to replace it with the Blackout model. Was originally happy with look and feel (lighter weight than my other). Big problem is that the pins that hold the band on pop out VERY EASILY, the band is much softer and more pliable than the band on my original LumiNox. In the first 2 months of use it has popped of my wrist 4 times, none under harsh conditions (usually when taking a jacket on or off). I was lucky enough to find it in a corn field before I knew it had fallen off on one occasion. This never happened a single time with my old one. I plan to contact the company to request a different type band. Purchase date Spring of 2012.
