Solid stainless steel case in a super-durable anodized gunmetal finish. Scratch-resistant mineral crystal. Water-resistant to 150 feet. Super Luminova (a patented highly luminescent material) on hands and hour marks allow for easy low-light viewing. Nylon band with oil-tanned strap leather accents looks great and provides durability in the field. Easy-read date function. Imported.

I bought the watch mainly to wear when I was hunting but the watch is so comfortable and I like the looks so much that I'm wearing it all the time now.

Stopped 90Days, Strap Keeper Disintegrated

Here's a first for me = a negative review from me ( I Love Cabelas#. I hope this review will lead to some corrections.
I received this as a XMAS present, Dec 2011. Its now March 2012 and it sits in front of me not running and the strap keepers #2) have both disintegrated because they were flimsy to start with - not at all consistent with a 'rugged field watch'.
Let me guess that the only problem with the watch itself may be a bad battery installed in the original watch. The strap though needs some work.
The good news is the superb Cabelas customer service. I am now packaging it up for return. I'm going to exchange for:

Note: I wear this watch all the time and just want it to tell time light/dark wet/cold field conditions - not some of the peripheral functions of the more 'decked out' field watches. I have an altimeter, digital compass, temperature gauge device that hangs from my pack when I'm 'in the field'. So my choice for a field watch is probably more appearance oriented than others buying a 'field' watch.
Nevertheless - without some indication that Cabelas has corrected the flimsy strap keepers, I can't recommend this anyone.

I liked this watch so much I bought another one. It keeps great time , the battery is easy to replace and I can read the time WITHOUT my glasses ! A word of advice though... don't leave it near a strong magnet. I have one of those shake-up flashlights that contains a strong magnet and I unwittingly set the watch near it when I went to bed. I thought the battery had died. I changed the battery and then figured out it was the magnet. Oops! I would recommend this watch.
