The next generation in the Outfitter Series tents has enhanced safety features and user-friendly updates that take it to a whole new level. Sidewall condensation vents now have hook-and-loop closures all around the perimeter for better ventilation control. Three large multi-panel windows each have a zippered cover, a clear vinyl window that zips out of the way, and a mesh screen for added ventilation. The stove jack is covered by a storm flap that now rolls down to avoid contact with the piping, so it won’t melt the material. Sizes still include the 12-ft. x 12-ft. and 12-ft. x 20-ft., and the new 13-ft. x 27-ft. The 12-ft. x 12-ft. model with 4-ft. walls and an angled roof window comfortably sleeps six, with plenty of room for a stove. Our 12-ft. x 20-ft. model sports all the room of a traditional wall tent with extra-tall 5-ft. walls for more headroom around the edges. The 12-ft. x 20-ft. tent is also equipped with two large doors for easy entry and exit, and two center support poles for added stability. The 13-ft. x 27-ft. has the most interior space in the Alaknak series, making it perfect for large party hunters or base camp. It has an impressive 11-person sleeping capacity, 5-ft. walls, two large doors, two offset center poles and one exterior center pole. Rugged, waterproof 250-denier polyester oxford X-Treme Tent Cloth has a high tear strength and resists punctures for lasting reliability. 10 perimeter tent poles keep the sidewalls from blowing in and add rigidity in high winds, so you can camp comfortably knowing you’re protected. The heavy-duty No. 10 YKK® zippers and inverted T-style door makes entering and exiting the tent easy. Plus, it’s backed by a screen door, so you can let cool breezes in while keeping bugs out. The attached awning boasts a frame that comes down from the peak of the tent and directs runoff away from the door for superior protection in the wettest weather. The sidewalls have unique fold-down shelves that sport cup holders to eliminate spilled beverages and gear pockets to hold gear. The floor has a zip-open panel for safe placement and stove use. Tent sets up quickly and easily. Includes 12" steel stakes, guy ropes and a large zip-close storage bag. Available:
12 ft. x 12 ft. – Tent body, 31 lbs.; frame, 23 lbs.; stakes, 13 lbs.

I purchased this tent in Oct for a hunting trip to Montana in late Nov. The 10x20 slept six comfortably. I also had a woodburning stove for heat and even at -3 degrees the tent stayed warm and cosy. I also purchased an alcove and it really was nice for cooking. Stayed in the tent a total of 9 days. Never had any really strong winds but did have some gusts up to 35mph,and 7 inches of snow one night. Never had any problems. The tent was easy to set up and take down . Everyone on the trip was very impressed with the tent.
We have gone through alot of tents over the years and the last few years having to buy a couple due to family size. We found this tent at Cabela's and were told alot of good things about it by a manager who had taken one to Alaska. We then purchased a 12x12 Alaknak. We took it camping and the whole family loved the tent the room it had and the abilities it has like to be able to put our artic stove in it. Now we're wanting to buy the next size up just to give us a little more room but we still plan on keeping this one as well for short camping trips when we won't really need the added room so much. This tent is sturdy and plenty of vents for air and unlike some of the other tents we have had, this one stayed dry very dry during the rain. And being stationed in Washington where we'll be doing our camping that is very important!
I purchased my 12X12 Alaknak Tent 3 years ago and did not feel I could do an honest review until I had used it for a while. I have now used it 3 seasons and am ready. What a tent. I hunt the Black River country here in Alaska in late September and the weather is always unpredictable. Every year we get snow, rain, sleet, wind and on clear nights heavy frost. The Alaknak takes it in stride keeping me and my two sons warm and dry. This thing sets up quickly, (we now know all the right moves) and when staked down does not move in high winds. It holds the 3 of us with room to spare and that's with 3 cots set up. When you are 63 and have to keep up with a 25 and 30 year old all day in the Alaska wilderness a warm dry tent at the end of the day is a must. The big thing with this tent is, it's tough and sturdy. When you are 60 miles from the nearest road a good tent is your lifeline. If it fails their is no getting in your truck and going home it has to work first time everytime, this one does.
I purchased the 12x20 tent back in Feb of 2012 for the sole purpose of living out of it for a while. Yeah, subleased my room and living in "The Lodge" as i like to call it. Real easy to set up, took me about 90 mins by myself, now that i know how it all works i feel that i could do it in 30 mins. The material i think is nylon/polyester very rip/tear resistant, not your typical tent material. I have 95% of "the lodge" covered by a tarp to cut down on UV rays and keep the rain off it. I kept a portion uncovered to test the waterproof capabilities. I live in San Diego, which has a very mild climate. This winter did see a few rough rain storms (for SD), no problem with water leaking in at all. It's pretty neat sitting on my couch watching the rain through the clear rubber/plastic windows. I put indoor/outdoor carpet as a liner inside, and have a non-electric "natural" sweeper to keep up on the dog/cat hair and dirt, the shop vac gets used when it's real dirty. Everyone that comes into the tent is amazed at how big it is, and how cozy it feels. i imagine using this for it's main purpose as a hunting base would be really nice. all zippers are smooth and durable. Has 4 rectangular shaped ventilation screens that can be fastened closed with velcro along the walls, as well as 2 triangular ones above the doors. The awnings on both ends do a good job of blocking wind, rain. i have read other reviews on this tent, some gripes; condensation when heating, don't use a propane heater. Complaining about having to go outside to close clear window cover so rain doesn't get in, come on dude, it's a tent not a house. Bottom line, this tent is awesome. If you're thinking about getting one, do it.
