Wonderful tent!
Date:
We used this tent for the first time last summer on Lake Powell. Having been to this lake on numerous occasions, we knew we needed a tent that could withstand very strong winds. The tent was blown so hard it practically folded in two, but kept standing. After a long day of kayaking and a terrible wind storm, we came back to the only tent in our area that did not get destroyed by the wind. It also rained, but the tent did not leak!

BEST tent EVER!!!!
Date:
We have owned this tent for 10 years. I had stood up to the men in my husband's deer hunting party every year (which is a huge accomplishment on its own!), the guys on the trout fishing trips, and all of our many annual family camping trips.
The shape of this tent is fantasic - being square in design maximizes the utility of the indoor space...plenty of room for a family of 4 (5-6 person size) plus our bags, boots, etc. The fact that it is basically free-standing makes it super easy to set up anywhere, to move it when necessary, and to flip upside down when breaking camp to shake out any debris.
While definitely not a 4-season tent, it has still held it's own to big windstorms, high sierra snow, and coastal rain.
We have had to do some patching to the floor of the tent, and replace the zipper on the door, but again, the deer hunting crew has not exactly been gentle on any of our equipment.
When the time comes for a new tent, I pray that Cabelas will still be making this one!

Good tent
Date:
I have 2 of these that I use for Scouting, a 8x10 for my son and I and a 6x8 for myself.
In the 8x10 we have no problem with 2 cots, plenty of room to keep the gear dry on rainy outings, 2 people to set up is recommended, one can do it but there better be no wind.
the 6x8 I can set up by myself, plenty of room for my cot and gear.
These are 3 season tents April - October in Minnesota, I would not use them when the temp dips below 20. but if you have a Warm bag this woulf not be a issue. the ability to reduce the upper ventalation would be nice, but I knew this was not a winter tent when I bought them.

Big and roomy.
Date:
I set this up in our back yard. Its easy to set up with two people. It does need to be staked or it catches the wind. I have a concern that the nylon zipper won't hold especially as there seems to be tension on the tent floors where the center poles are. I'll know more about it after actual use over time. I am pleased with the head room and the overall space within the tent.
