I like the graphics, guns, etc, however I found out after I got this for an xmas gift that the gun will not calibrate with larger tv's unless you are around 15 ft away which I can't get to. Tried for an hour or so doing different things and finally looked it up online and found this is a known problem and has been for a while. Saw comments about the same issue with 2011 game. Tried the regular controller, but too hard to sight on a couple of hunts that are mid way in a level and when you don't complete them your three choices are to start over at he beginning of that level, start at the beginning of the game or quit. Unless you have the room to get 15 ft away I would not recommend.
my boys and i have played this game on the wii for the past several days. it has proven to be a challenging and enjoyable game. other reviewers note the graphics are not to their liking. i noticed the graphics are not as sharp as other games we play on our xbox. however, in my case, my xbox is an hdmi connection to a plasma tv, and the wii is a composite connection. a wii console is not capable of generating an HD picture signal like the xbox, and my plasma tv is capable of revealing the difference. however, it's not the games fault.
the gameplay is exceptional, and is far better than other 'kid' games. it's not reckless violence & murder like FPS games, and it has done a good job of teaching my young boys what hunting is all about. i enjoy playing it as well.
the scope is not 100% accurate, but i don't expect that it would be since scopes on real firearms have variability as well, depending upon the shot and conditions. the game has a really good variety of hunts, animals, and situations.
it was a bit expensive, but i chose to buy it from cabellas before christmas instead of waiting to buy it from a discounter afterwards. i'm not disappointed in my decision. my kids loved getting it as a christmas gift.
I was so excited about Christmas time and playing new games. After wasting 2 1/2 hours trying every possible way to calibrate my gun, I finally gave up. Nothing like wasting Christmas. It is extra frustrating as I am a systems tech for a large production company and I use equipment that is way more technical with many more features than this game, an I kept getting no place with it.
I have a 42" LCD TV and I tried with the sensor above and below the TV at a distance of 6 feet to 18 feet with no success. I also set the timer to 3 hours as recommended.
I could shoot from the hip but the gun was not aimed at the target. I could never use the scope.
I want the game so bad and still feel as though I have to return it. Bummer.
