Satisfied with product.
Date:
We go to various places to fish including remote areas in Canada. So wanted a radio that would be reliable. I bought this radio on recommendation of a Cabela's employee who told me he uses the same radio but non-floating. So far, this radio has been submersed about 4' for a few minutes (don't ask and I won't tell ;^), has proven it floats when dropped in the water, has bounced around the bottom of the boat, and keeps on working. We haven't tried to stretch the range, but it has worked well with the distances we've used it so far.
Figuring it out was confusing at first, the reason only 4 stars, but once you get on to it it's not so bad. Communication has been clear and understandable. So far we like this radio.

Very disappointed
Date:
I was planning a canoe trip and did not want to ruin my GMRS radios by dropping them in the water.
I was excited to find a radio that was: waterproof, submersible,
and able to float.
When my Buddy and his wife (a rookie in a canoe) turned over their canoe I was surprise to find that their radio did not work.
It was just constant static and the only way I could turn it off was to remove the battery.
Later I saw water behind the screen! There was no damage to the screen. The water came in as a result of landing in the water.
RE RETURNING THE RADIOS
I did not expect any trouble returning the radio that was out of service, but I did expect trouble returning the radio that was still working. To my surprise the woman at the return counter took both of them back with out any trouble.
Thanks Cabela's. Doing business with you continues to be a pleasure.
