Cabela's Preservac Deluxe Vacuum Sealer

High-quality, value-loaded vacuum sealers lock in freshness and prevent freezer burn for extended food storage life. The Preservac Deluxe has a thick 3mm bar for solid, long-lasting seals. Drawing a 27-1/2" vacuum with a powerful 230 watts of power, it efficiently removes air from each bag, ensuring a super-strong, airtight seal. Once the vacuum process begins, the lid automatically locks into place and releases when the seal is complete. The digital seal and vacuum display eliminate guesswork, allowing you to monitor sealing time. A unique pulse vacuum function is ideal for marinating in bags and vacuuming wet items. purchased the first unit just after Christmas 2011 with cabela's points and it did not work. Received the replacement after the holidays and was not able to use it. Fishing season is upon us and guess what....this one does not work either! i have used 30 bags to seal 10 packages. Not happy. Thank you Cabela's for awesome customer service! They are taking it back!

I got this for my Father for Christmas. He loves it. I have been asking him about all the problems that i read about with this and other sealers. He has had none. He is even sealing Chili. I think its a great value at this price.

AFTER HAVING TWO FOODSAVER VACS ,ONE THAT LASTED A COUPLE OF YEARS @ ONE THAT LASTED ONE DAY. I BOUGHT THE CABELAS PRESERVAC DELUXE VACUUM SEALER, I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE UNIT . SO FAR I DID TWO BEAR @ ONE DEER WITH NO REAL PROBLEMS THE SELF SEALING LID IS BIG PLUS AND IT DOES A GREAT JOB SUCKEN @ SEALIN

I'm new to this sealing world. I bought this to preserve the axis and oryx that I recently shot. Out of 12 packages so far 5 failed to seal completely. The sucking operation would hang on 2 forever before it went to 1 and sealed the bag. When it did this the contents were loose in the bag. I've experimented with holding the bag up, letting it lay flat, stood it on end but with no difference in the outcome. I'm going to try to finish the rest of the steaks, but if it continues to fail to suck the air completely out, it's going back to Cabelas.
