My daughter gave me this gun case for my birthday in conjunctin with me buying a new Kawasaki Mule 610. I like to shoot sporting clays when time allows and the place that we shoot rents golf carts, but the carts always have a problem with climbing the hills. So, I take my "mule" when shooting clays and it works out great. This gun case fits on the mule perfectly and I leave it on when towing as it handles highway speeds with no problem. There are two of us who usually go shooting and there is plenty of rrom in this case for both of our guns and the padding within protects our shotguns from the rough roads throughout this course. I am buying one for my son today for his birthday for his "mule".
I bought this to protect my rifles when traveling the wma roads and it does that great. I did treat mine with camp dry after the first time it rained I had to prop ever opening open to dry it out. But since I sprayed it with the camp dry the rain is no longer an issue , I would how ever treat it yearly to ensure keeping as waterproof as possible. Heck I ordered a boat blind for duck hunting that was supposed to be waterproof and I still have not found a product that will keep the water from raining in for more than a hour on it. So this gun case had to be pretty water resistant to begin with. Yes I would buy it again/ treat it with waterproofing right out of the box.
I find this to be an excellent product. It is very durable, well made and very easy to use and put on and off. The pockets hold loads of goodies, it has tons of padding to protect your guns and it is much easier than using hard storage cases on my UTV. The only thing I would add to this is "D" rings in the pockets to clip on valuables in case they were to fall out. I did this myself, two in the large pocket and one in each of the small ones. Mine had an instruction sheet that stated "Although your Gun Carrier is treated to resist and repel water, no fabric is completely waterproof". With this in mind I decided to add a little protection myself by spraying it down with Silicone Spray. Make sure to spray it when it is clean and dry and let the spray cure on it. An hour or two on a sunny day ought to do it. And don't forget the zippers and all the seams. I did this when mine was new and it worked excellent for me, just remember to do it at least once a season.
Easy to install and is nice and secure so it does a good job of protecting your guns. However, as many have said it is not waterproof - I wouldn't even call it water resistant. It doesn't take much rain for it to get soaked throughout and then it takes a very long time to dry.
My biggest complaint is that mine arrived with a 6 inch slit in one of the pockets so that pocket is unusable. The box had been retaped so I'm guessing someone had returned it and they just put it back in stock. I would have returned it but it was too close to hunting season and I doubt I will ever need that pocket.
