Neat Device - If you can use it.
Date:
This device does everything one could expect but it does not work miracles. The first time I used it was in moderately stained water. I was checking out a dock and had the camera resting on the bottom. A sunfish came cruising by and a minute later here comes a bass. Now I could not tell whether it was a lunker or bait but it was definitely a bass. This is one of those deals where if fishing time is not an issue, and your water is generally clear - moderately stained or if you are stationary - especially night fishing with lights - this is could be really useful. However, if your time is limited, your water usually heavily stained - muddy or you are moving from place to place, then this is probably something that will spend much of its time on the shelf.
The unit itself is easy to use, well constructed and generally a quality piece. It has continuous depth and temperature readings and will show you how much light is getting to any given depth (a lot more than I thought). Those are probably the most universally useful qualities. Spying under docks is probably unrealistic unless you have clear water.
