Cherokee Molded Head Turkey Decoys

  • Cast from a freeze-dried turkey head for an extremely realistic shape
  • Photo-printed, compact, inflatable bodies
  • Lifelike movements in the slightest breeze

Available:
  • Submissive Sally: Take any tom's attention away from you and direct it towards Submissive Sally. Not only does she look realistic, but the inviting pose will have the most wary gobblers running to get to her.
  • Wobble Head Hen: The wobble head will peck, then look left and right, mimicking a feeding bird and make birds feel more comfortable while approaching your setup.
  • Delinquent Jake: The "Juvenile Delinquent" bird is in a semi-strutting position, which mature toms find extremely aggravating.
  • Bad Act II Tom: Whether you have bachelor jakes looking for hens or a dominant tom looking for a fight, the Bad Act II Tom is sure to bring them in close to investigate further.
  • Text Size: AAA

    Picture is Deceiving
    Date:
I bought wobble head hen and jake based on realistic looking photos. They must have had the lighting just right. Under field conditions, the jake looks particularly pitiful in full sunlight. It scared me to look at it. At a minimum, the turkeys didn't care for it. I had several birds on several hunts just out of range in the field and NOT ONE came in to investigate. They were simply not effective.
PROS: The heads are incredibly realistic and even have those "whiskers" like real turkeys have on head and neck. If kept inflated and carried in a decoy sack, they are really quick to set up because you don't have to push out the wrinkes.

    Hesitating from past reviews?

well i just got these on friday. and i have my 3 birds which is the limit for our spring california season so i cant play with them until fall or next spring, but trust me when i say these decoys look amazing. the standing hen would fool anyone. she looks amazing. the same can be said for the jake. i am a little skeptical with the bobble head hen but i have killed all my turkeys off the sceery inflatable ones and these are an outstanding step above them. to get movement with these you put the skinny side of the pole in the decoy instead of the fat one and they with move in the wind. the stakes seam nice and sturdy but i like the sceery stakes more. i cant say enough on how realistic the jake and standing hen look. if i snuck up on the pair the only thing that would give away the fact that they are decoys would be that they are not walking. the one negative is they seem to be made of a thinner plastic than the sceerys. but i have recommended them to friends and have one who already bought the hen. i cant say anything about the tom because i bought the pack and not him. one of my buddies has the dave smith hen decoy and for the price he shouldnt have bought it. the heads look killer. i had the hen heads in my hand when one friend came over and he asked why i had turkey heads in my hand. they are painted perfectly. im 99 percent sure the jakes head is not detachable. i didnt pull on it but the hen heads ere separated in the box ad his was attached. the feathers on the jake are irridecent like real feathers. his head is good enough to put on the wall. also the kit came with repairing items, glue and patches so if a hole gets poked in the body. the heads are a tough rubber material that dont bend very easily because of the thickness. i dont know if they were painted or molded with colors, im guessing painted and only time will tell when the paint will fade or chip. if you go with these and a proper call then you can fool any tom if you do it right. good luck and be safe.

As a bow hunter, decoys are a very important part of my set-up. I like to get them REALLY close ( inside 10 yds. ). I chose this decoy for the head down feeding action of actual hens observed in the field. Breezes will move the decoy side to side, as with most, but head up and down action is limited to non existent. I must agree with earlier critiques in that she is a bit small and shiny. I will repaint her and attached a fishing reel to the head in order to achieve the more realistic look and motion I wanted. Good concept but falls short. In my experience, almost any decoy will bring a turkey into shotgun range.

    ****NICE****

Being leary of decoys from an early experience with a original foam decoy I had when I was a teenager I haven't been a big fan of decoys. Many have said that it is because you always hunt in hardwoods and that old toms don't decoy as well in these conditions. Whatever the case may be I decided to give the decoy another try. I picked these because of there easy packing and light weight design. Here in Wv the mt's are steep and very thick in places so most decoys that arent light weight and compact are impractical. My 2 2010 birds couldnt have loved submissive sally any better! Both were taken in hardwoods and were seemingly seduced by her not paying a bit of attention to me which is usualy the case.
I would recomend these highly. The only recomendation I would have is leave them 1\\2 inflated when hunting it will cut your set up time in half.
