A full-strut tom decoy brings toms charging in. This collapsible decoy has hand-painted markings, a lifelike paint scheme and an authentic bronze sheen. Made of lightweight polyethylene that rolls up for easy storage. The high-resolution photo-printed fan is weather-resistant, durable and foldable. Includes stake.
First, this was ordered on Monday and I got it on Friday. Second, you can't fold this up. It is lightweight and I use a decoy bag. The fan is cardboard and has a screen print on both sides. It doesn't look that great. However, hunting open fields it fools them at a distance. The bird I took the first morning I used it was fooled. By the time he figured out the fan wasn't real it was too late. He ran 200 yds over open pasture to check it out. My set-up was 30+- yards away from the decoys and it looked very nice to me. You can replace the fan with a real one if you want. For the price, you can't beat this. It is as nice as any decoy out there. I use it with some hen decoys and one jake and the "flock" looks realistic. If Tom sees it, hes coming in!!
I am extremely picky when it comes to any decoy I use for turkey, duck, or goose hunting. This decoy is flat out amazing. I added a real Jake fan to it and it looks like the real thing. I've made strutting decoys and examined many manufactured strutting decoys and this is by far the best I've seen. Very good decoy and an unbeatable price too.
Highly suggest adding a real fan because no fake fan can substitute for the real thing no matter who makes the decoy.
This is exactly what I was looking for in a strut decoy. I wanted a rigid decoy that could take the abuse of a tom attacking it. Soft decoys tend to scare birds after the initial blow. This thing takes a beating and keeps on standing. A real fan is a must though.
i gave this a 4 because the fan that comes with it is not very realistic. but if you have your own fan to put in it it brings em in on a string. ive used it 3 times and killed 2 birds. the only reason i havent killed 3 is cuz it was a jake
