The True Double II has a stacked double frame with one thin prophylactic reed in the top frame
and two prophylactic reeds in the bottom frame. Both frames are separated by 1/16" so the reeds don't
stick together. Has a slightly higher pitch than the True Double. Makes raspy yelps, clucks, cutts and
cackles.
As a novice turkey hunter I found this mouth call to be the easiest to learn calls and it was very effective. One the first outting I called in a Tom and had it's attention for over an hour. What a thrill.
During the second time out I called in a coyote. I guess it sounded real to him also.
this call is super easy to do yelps, clucks, and even the tricky fly-down calls. It sounds great! its easy to go from smooth to raspy, from quiet to LOUD and everything inbetween! I recomend this call to everyone I see. I don't go turkey hunting without this call in my pocket!
I hunt quite a bit for spring gobblers in NY, PA, SD, and WY and the primos piggy back style calls are my go-to call. Sometimes they are hard to find and there aren't as many to choose from, but for the half dozen varieties I currently have in my vest, this Double II is the best. Medium sounding raspiness which is a good starting point - and can be varied.
