This is a great slate for the price. It is easy to use and gives some quality sound. The slate is a little sensitive to the early morning moisture, but if you keep it covered you'll be fine. I am disappointed with half the junk I buy lately, but I woul recommend adding this one to your vest.

Purchased this slate call on sale at Cabela's. It sounds really good, is easy to use and is very responsive when using the call but as someone mentioned, the striker that comes with it is terrible. It hardly even makes a sound come out. I purchased the 2 pack Primos Custom Striker kit which includes the Double Down and Lucky Striker and makes all the difference in the world. I have tried other friction calls of this type and for the money, this one is the best I've tried so far.
