Wow, did they market this thing wrong! It is absolutely worthless for turkey. It is, however, an excellent cow elk call. I have purchased 2 and they are durable and capable of custom inflection for that "come hither" needy cry. I bow hunt with a traditional longbow so I have to bring em in w/in 30 yards. I'll take this over reeds, diaphrams or rubber push calls anytime. Don't tell anyone....LOL
Not a very good call for turkey but great 4 coyote
Date:June 2, 2011
First day of hunting season i went out and there were 3 gobblers hung up so i tried the squeeling hen, and i had turkeys gobble from all around me and adventualluy 2 came in and i got one of the 2,But on the 2nd. to last day of turkey season i used it and a coyote came up on me at 10 yards away, I would recomend this call for both preditor and turkey hunting.
In nearly 40 years of turkey hunting, I have been suckered into numerous purchases of turkey calls and equipment. This has to be the worst of the lot. I saw the film of the turkeys running across the field to get to the caller so I thought—okay—I’ll give it a try. My friend and I set up a blind on the edge of a pasture where many turkeys roost. At daylight, we heard gobbling and when the birds flew down we tried our diaphragm and slate calls. One bird continued to answer and seemed to be on the way in. I gobbled to him and he continued closing the distance. Then he seemed to hang-up. I told my partner I would make no guarantee but I would try using the new Squealing Hen call. I dug into my pack and gave the call a series of squeals. Just then my partner said, “There he goes.” The gobbler had sneaked, unseen, into the edge of the field and was watching the decoys. When I blew the squeals, he ran so fast in the other direction he nearly set the pine needles on fire. He looked like The Roadrunner getting the heck out of the area. This call might be okay to use as a predator call or a locator call but I would never try it again as a call to entice a gobbler. The only reason I am giving it one star is that is the lowest possible rating. There is no way to give it no stars.
