I used this tube recently on a farm pond in Iowa, during the spawn. I used it by itself, with an internal jig head setup, and as a trailer on a Boo-yah rubber skirted jig. In the jig set-up, the bass inhaled it on nearly every cast when other typical spawn fishing methods were catching maybe 1 in every8-10 casts. By itself, it did practically as good, but it was too windy to cast it well. Slow hops and twitches in a dragging motion to mimic a crawdad was the presentation I used. Rarely did I retrieve it more than 10' before I had a bite. Ran out of time after catching 14 fish. and reluctantly had to leave.
Last summer, I rigged these Texas style with 1/8-oz bullet weights and size 3/0 hooks, and fished the shoals of a local river. The smallmouth tore this bait apart. They're not as effective outside of the shoals, but who cares.
Spend the extra dollar or two & buy the Yamamoto brand - you can just look at them & tell they're a better-made product.
I think this is a great tube bait for the price. Has great tail action. I use Berkley Fluorocarbon Line and 3/0 Gamakatsu Hook. No weight if there is no wind.
