Installed this unit on Silverado Classic. Heavy tailgate glides smoothly down with a flip of the handle. Don't have to worry about wife or grandkids getting hurt by tailgate dropping on them.

Bought the EZ Down after seeing it on a friend's truck. Easy install and it works great. With little kids always climbing on the bumper and grabbing the tailgate handle, this helps prevent the tailgate from slamming down on top of them. Installed on an '08 F150.

Clearer Installation Instructions

I just installed this product and I like the way it works. It wasn't overly difficult to install but there certainly could be clearer instructions. It comes with a cable tie and a foam cable sheath. The printed instructions don't mention either. The on-line video does show the foam sheath but not the cable tie - and it references a different (older?) system for attaching the unit to the tail-gate which confused me.
I still have the cable tie left over.
Good device but the instructions need to be updated.

EZ DOWN TAILGATE FOR DIDGE RAM 1500

Directions were a bit hard to follow at first, but I got it installed in about 30 mins anyway. the only thing I don't like about it is that the cable sometimes will get stuck in the tailgate or somehow stuck behind the compressor making it possible to damage the unit. keep the pad in the right spot and it works very well.
