Cabela's Fish Eagle® II Trolling Rods

  • Spiral-wrapped Pac Bay Hialoy guides eliminate torque
  • Field-proved 38 million-modulus blanks
  • Nonslip black diamond rear grips
The first time you look at one of our Fish Eagle II trolling rods, you might be surprised by what you see. What makes them different is what puts them in a class by themselves. The spiral-wrapped Pac Bay® Hialoy™ guides transfer line pressure to the bottom of the rod, eliminating torque during the fight. Just like the name implies, the guides are seated in a spiral alignment up the rod. The guides closest to the tip are on the bottom of the rod similar to a spinning rod. You'll instantly notice a fish-fighting difference the first time you fish one – no more rod twisting or wasted effort keeping the guides right side up. This design also eliminates the weakening that torsion can often place on the tip of a rod causing breaks. The rules of physics are now in your favor. Take advantage of more control with the potential for greater leverage. Each rod is built on our field-proved 38 million-modulus Fish Eagle II blank with alignment dots for easy, precise assembly. The cork fore grip provides a classic, wet or dry grip. The nonslip black diamond rear grip is tailor-made for rod holders and trolling applications.

this is a great rod
Date:
i bought two 5 1/2 footers for 3-waying walleye on the upper mississippi river. the fast action medium-heavy's in this length are not easy to find. other rods that i have tried are too much of a pool que and you can't tell if your lure is clean or not. then you have the other end of the spectrum where your rod is just a noodle. these are hands-down perfect.

Fish Eagle trolling rod
Date:
Purchased the Fish Eagle trolling 8 1/2 foot trolling rod last year. Overall liked the feel and handling of the long rod and thought it was very good in handling large Walleyes we catch here in MInnesota at night in the Fall.
The rod is lightly used, and still looks absolutely new.
This last weekend up north, I was setting the hook on a small Walleye, and the upper 4 feet of the rod broke off the lower section. I was quite surprised at the loud crack, but this is why you always carry a spare rod all set up and ready to go, so I continued fishing the rest of the night.
Am call Cabela's custome service in the morning and see what their warranty program is. Am not worried about it as I'm sure it will be replaced. The rod had to of had a flaw in it, as I know it has never been abused or used much. Well let you know how the warranty return goes.

So far so good, great Rod with some nice features
Date:
Picked up the TGCII763 for trolling on my Kayak. I was looking for a conv. setup the could handle a decent size fish.
Paired it with Daiwa SL-X20SHA w 25lb quattro . Reel fits fairly well, you could file down the reel foot to get a deeper fit. But the reel comes with a clamp which worked OK on this rod.
Rod takes a little getting use-to funny seeing the guides on the bottom, keep thinking the reel handle should be lower.
Not sure the point of the telescopic feature only saves you 5" or 6" inches for transport and kinda take some feeling out of the fight.
Overall great Rod with some nice features, slick butt section never get hung-up comes out of rodholder clean & spiral guide wrap gives you best of both conv. and spinning worlds.

Excellent Trolling Rod
Date:
I bought two 8' rods and two 5' rods and I absolutely LOVE them. The unique spiral wrapped guides keep the rod/reel from flipping upside down while in the rod holder. It also noticeably reduces the torque when fighting a fish. The rubberized grip is also nice and will hold up well to the abuse of going in and out of the rod holders. Excellent design, good backbone and a sensitive enough tip to show when the crankbait has grass or is running fouled.
