Get the brute strength of a heavy-duty linecounter with the easy-handling responsiveness of a levelwind casting reel. It's direct-drive linecounter measures line by the foot for reaching exactly where the fish are biting and returning to the same depth cast after cast. High-strength alloy gears for serious winding power and more than a meter of line pick-up with each crank. 10-element super drag with stainless steel and grease-impregnated carbon fiber washers for maximum drag pressure with minimal heat build-up for premium stopping power. Shielded, corrosion-resistant ball bearings resist debris for 12 times more service life than ordinary bearings. Full-metal-jacket construction prevents body flex with a rugged aluminum alloy frame and side plate. Machined aluminum spool. Levelwind system for even line lay. Dual-system anti-reverse eliminates backplay. Two-position power handle. Five-year warranty.

Best reel for Lake Michiigan leadcore and copper

The Daiwa Saltist STTLW50LCHA is a reel that Lake Michigan trollers will love. The high speed feature will make using 10 colors of leadcore or 300 feet of copper a lot more fun because the retrieve speed is fast. I am currently running 6 of these reels. The reels are strong, very well built and should last a lifetime. Yes, they cost more but they are worth every penny.

Line counter fogged up
Date:
Fishing the Columbia river for Springers. Second time out with this reel and the line counter fogged up rendering it useless. If it wasn't for that, the reel would be worth a 5 star. Will use a blow dryer to try to get the fog out, if that doesn't work, will send it back and trade it for another one because the reel is worth another shot. Other than that, the reel is actually awsome!!
