The original hydrofoil, Doel-Fin was developed by an aeronautical engineer to improve overall performance on all boats with outboard or outdrive power units. I bought this item to my 1995 Johnson unbelivable performance in top speed and low rev planning.
I definitely advice this item comparing expensive fortune spending rivals.It does the job for such a small money. I asked my self why I was so stupid didn't fix it 10 years ago and save money and gasoline....

Great product

I have the Doel Fin installed on a 15hp Yamaha 4 stroke (4 strokes are heavy) for my 14 ft. jon boat and it is the perfect accessory. The bow never rises, even at 1/4-1/2 throttle. Twist the throttle and the boat is instantly on plane. Turns are very smooth even at full throttle. I have no speed indicator but, the way this boat scoots, I couldn't have lost much if any. I wish I'd had one of these 20 years ago. You will be happy with this one.

Unclear Description

I have heard great things about this product and bought one for my boat. Unfortunately, Davis Instruments quit making the adapter plate for the Volvo Outdrives and this product will not work on a Volvo Outdrive. Cabela's doesn't say that anywhere on the website either. The packaging that the product comes in even says that an adapter plate is available, but when you I tried to order one, the company rep said they discontinued making them.

Great Hydrofoil!

Eleven years ago I installed one of these on my Yamaha 150 that's mounted on my Hewescraft 21' Searunner. Immediately I noticed an improvement. My boat would plane out sooner and hold plane at slower speeds. It stopped the tendency for my boat to porpoise at a comfortable cruise speed. I use my boat strictly on the ocean and it improved my boats stability in gnarly/rough seas. I've installed a lot of upgrades on my boat and this has to be one of the most important ones. It's funtional, ruggedly built, easy to install, and reasonably priced. Can't beat that! I've looked at some of the new models but mine works so well, I can't justify purchasing one.
