These make climbing very easy as one gets older when you have a hard time bending down and securing your boots. Definitely worth the money even if you aren't old.
Bought these based on all the reviews i read. I did not like them at all. Sure they may be quicker to get your feet in & out of, but they did not give me the confidence of knowing my feet were not going to slip out. For me climbing a tree 20 feet up in the air, i want to be 100% sure my feet are not going anywhere. This was an even bigger problem when trying to wiggle the platform loose from the tree, as is often the case, depending on what type of tree you are climbing. Sure it may be a bit of a pain in the butt to get your boots in & under the straps, but when you do, they are secure & you have full control of the platorm when ascending & descending the tree. Like others have said the plastic material is a little flimsy. One last thing, they do take up some space on the platform. I like to change positions often & this was another issue i had with these stirrups.
I've had my old Summit for years but had used it less and less because of how awkward it is to get my feet strapped back in when ready to climb down. First I'm stiff from a long sit and second I'm just not that limber anymore. These stirrups have put new life back in the old dog. I feel much more confident when I strap in....no excuses now!
