I have 3 tripods by this company and 1 in this model. This particular one has been standing and been used for 4 years now. It has survived two named storms and countless thunderstorms. The climate is rough on anything in north FL. It is wet year around, 100 degrees during the summer, and can even dip into the single digits in the winter. Some of our older tripods are getting wore out and I am not thinking of replacing them with anything else. Not to say these are the best out there but just the best for the price.
This is my first tripod ever, and while I haven't actually hunted out of it yet, after reading the negative reviews I was very skeptical to say the least. You see I didn't read them until after I made the purchase, put hadn't opened the box yet. So this past Sunday the grandson and I took it to the spot I plan to hunt come this Friday. I haven't find anything wrong with it, all the parts were there, we didn't have to drill any holes, it was very stable, (even before I put the anchors in the ground). I weight 250 lbs and I have climb up and down it now about 4 times, nothing has folded up or bent. I was out there yesterday putting some burlap cameo on the shooting rail, it is very stable to say the yeast, and very comfortable also. Can't hardly wait to hunt out of it.
I have 8 different blinds and this is the worst blind I have seen or used. I needed to replace a blind that was washed away in the TN flood and this was the cheapest so I bought it, MISTAKE! Putting it together I to use caution not to tighten the bolts to tight because the metal is so thin the tubes would collapse ( I have put may others together). The seat back did not have all the holes drilled so I had to drill them myself. The seat sags in to the seat post no mater how tight you pull the cord, not good on the back side. The first time I started to climb up the blind I was about half way up the cross members bent in and one of the legs came up off the ground, (that will get the heart pumping) so I had to use wire to tie them together. The shooting rail is so fragile you need to be careful not to put any weight on it or it will fold over. The seat arm rests bent climbing in to it. The steps are so far apart you better have long legs. I could go on but I think you get the point. Do not buy this blind!
My buddy bought one of these last year and I helped him put it up. I was very impressed with his stand and I bought 2 of these this year... 1 for my son and 1 for myself. I had no problems putting the 2 of them together... all parts were there and it went together as the book said. I assembeled them at home to the point of attaching the legs. I hauled the stands to their final destinations and then attached the legs and support bars. My son and I uprighted the stands and then anchored them to the ground. Very sturdy and plenty of room on the platform. By the way, I weigh 155 and my son weighs 140 and we're both 5' 8". You may have some clearance issues with turning the seat around if you're over 6'... My buddy is 6' and he has no issues.
