Over all these Big Game units are what I call "medium grade"...What pushes these Big Game made units to a "DO NOT BUY" product is Big Games Customer Service..Or lack of customer service. I you are missing a part or damage a part expect a large bill and a very large bill for shipping from these people. Read my re views...I feel I am only being honest and helping fellow hunters and shooters...
Im a newer bowhunter. only been bowhunting for 3 seasons now. and this is the 5th stand I have used. I have used 2 hanging stands and 2 ladderstands beside this one. And I feel more safe in this stand. I have the ladder out a little more than normal so the platform is level. Bottom is about 6 feet out as the instructions state. Only issues I have is the support brace. had to twist it a little to hook on the tree the way I wanted so the bracket on the ladder got bent. But the stand holds my 230 lbs just fine. the hanging stands I have cost the same as this ladder with out the climbing sticks, and the ladders I have were min. twice what I paid for this one. and I feel more comfortable and safe climbing into the stealth than the others. As far as shots from either side. Had no issues with that. was able to comfortably stand and turn either direction. Only draw back besides the support bracket is there is no shooting rail and side rails, seems like there are spots to mount one but still looking for a place that has them. But excellent stand will be buying more for next season as I have another area to hunt. So now need at least 8 stands up. thinking might try this for rifle hunting also.
I currently own 15 different stands and this one is the most frustrating to hunt out of. The stand itself is comfortable and portable to the tree, but thats where the benefits stop. The platform is angled so that if you are standing up to shoot, its tilted so you are leaning back. That wouldn't be a major problem if the seat itself was solid so you could lean against it. Since the seat is cloth, you just end up falling backwards towards the tree. If you take seated shots, it might work. For the standing bowhunter, this stand is not a good option at all.
This is a well make stand and cuts no corners. Lots of value for the money. My fault with the stand is the very small foot rest. I am older and a little more room to move around would help.
