Building a sturdy wood shooting platform is fairly easy, but elevating and stabilizing it in a way that creates a structure capable of lasting through seasons of changing weather is the hard part. That's where these Elevators come in. Built of heavy-duty steel, they'll help you easily construct the corner joint sections of your platform - the areas most vital to structural integrity. Use all four to easily build a free-standing platform or blind. You supply the pressure-treated 4" x 4" posts and lumber for cross bracing (not included). Per 4.
The Shadow Hunter Blind Elevators are a great way to secure posts to your elevated blind. They are easy to install and very solid when done properly. The elevators also angle the legs out away from the blind to further increase stability especially if you cross brace the legs. I just erected three box blinds with them on and can't imagine a better way to do it.
I recently ordered my second set of Shadow Hunter Blind Elevators. I purchased a set about 2 years ago and liked them so much, I wanted to build another blind and the shadow hunter blind elevators make the job so much easier. They are extremely sturdy and easy to use. This is a great product.
I install the Hunter Blind elevators on an existing elevated blind to stabalize it. It work well. I did have to cut the inside of the elevator support as it is designed to be install on a 2x8 floor frame. I had a 4x4 floor frame so the back side of the support has a half inch return that I removed. The elevator support is designed so 2x8 will not slide off of the support but the lag screws i install will not let the 4x4s move also. I also installed a 80 lb. bag of quick concrete around the 4x4 legs that i dug into the ground a foot or so and it is really solid. I used 14' 4x4 for the support legs.
