INACCURATE SCALE
Date:
I have to agree with the first few reviews on this product - my girlfriend went to Rome Italy & I weighed her bag 3 times with this scale - came to 36 lbs. She called me when she landed & told me the airport scale weighed in at 42 lbs - that's 6 lbs. off - not good ! She was still under the 50 lb weight limit but if it was closer - it would have been more $$$$
I weighed other objects in the garage ( tackle bag ) - weighed 30 lbs. on a digital Rapala 50 lb fish scale - weighed 25 lbs on this product - another 5 lbs off !
I would not recommend this product - I'm sending it back - should have read the reviews before I bought it - what do you expect for $ 10 ?
Going to try the other digital scale from Cabela's - do not but this one - too inaccurate - and inaccuracy in today's times will cost you more $$$ at the airport !!

Handy - even when broken!
Date:
I broke this little scale about 20 seconds after I took it out of the packaging - as my husband was telling me to be careful with it! Oh, well. Just be aware - do not turn it counterclockwise past zero! We still use it, it just took some fiddling to learn how to use it backward. I don't regret buying it at all.

Use with caution!!!
Date:
Used this to check our bags before we returned from Maui. I wasn't sure how accurate they were so I only packed to 46 lbs to leave some wiggle room. The airport scale read 50.5 lbs (they didn't charge me). I checked the bag on a calibrated scale at home, thinking the airline scale was incorrect. The airline scale was correct and my travel scale was 4.5 lbs off. I continued to play with the scale and could not get an accurate or even a consistant reading no matter what I tried.
I do not recommend this scale because it is not accurate or consistant.

Non-accurate scale
Date:
I have to agree with the other comments. This is probably the first product that I purchased from Cabela's that just doesn't work. A simple design that isn't accurate and will get you in trouble at the airport if you are not careful. It registers too high, then too low. I ended up emptying part of my suitcase at the ticket counter b/c this item was wrong! Lucky for me I had a carry-on I could shove clothes into for my flight back home. Stay away from this product!
