Excellent Protection

I purchased my third case already and have had excellent results. Without the case, mounting the camera temporarily with flimsy straps left it easy to tamper with or steal. It also made it hard to service. I scewed this case into a tree, another into a fence, and a third into a post. I added an inexpesive 1/4" stainless steel eye bolt into the area near the lock and it is almost impervious to theft, but very easy to service when I unlock the lid. The camera slides right out and can be configured, batteries changed (once a year) or the SD card read. Do not wast extra money on the camoflaged camea as the case can be coated with any design or color.

Lock Box

Lock box metal is to thin, directions say to mount it using a lag bolt, well I don't want to lag bolt my trees every time I relocate. Should have tabs with holes on each side to chain and lock it.

I never thought I would write a poor review about any Bushnell product, but trust me, save your money because this product is not well thought out at all... I would be very surprised if it was ever even field tested prior to becoming available. The metal is far too thin and warps when mounted to a tree. Also, since the lid is even with the back of the box, once you mount it, you will find the lid hard to put on or take off. Take a heavy knife along or you may not get it open. You will need to make a backing of some kind to get around this. I used 3/8th exterior plywood. Beyond that, all a thief would need to get into the box and relieve you of your camera would be a screwdriver, pliers or something of that sort. The padlock is located in a very handy spot... for the thief. It should be under the box and protected in a similar way as Cuddeback does theirs... I hope Bushnell takes the time to re-design this because the cameras are expensive, and this box doesn't do them justice.
