Dead on accurate
Date:
I have owned this rifle well over 15 years. I fell in love with it the first time I shot it. I shoot patch and ball and this rifle is a tack driver. The first time I used it in a competition shoot, I took first place. The second time I shot it in a competition, I took second place. This was against in line rifles firing sabots. Some where along the way I lost the spring under the rear sight. I simply cut a piece off the spring from a ball point pen to fit and continued to shoot. I do find the front sight a little hard to pick up in low light so I put a dab of white out on it, problem solved. I find I get the best groups using 90 grains of powder. Since I hunt with this rifle, I do not polish the brass but let it get dull to avoid it flashing in the sun. Although it might be heavier than an in line, I love the traditional look and feel of this rifle. It is a well balanced, well made, highly accurate and fun rifle to own and shoot.

Outstanding

I am enjoying the rifle, have a load of fun working up loads and just plan burning powder. I put the fiber optics sights on it, which is the only change that I made.
