Salmo Turbo Jack

A topwater prop bait with a hard-slapping tail blade that tears up the surface and pulls in big predators from great distances. Its slim body profile makes it easy to cast and retrieve. looks good but...
Date:
This bait will catch muskies. It true does produce a distinctive sound. The only problem is that the tail fin bends overtime, requiring that it be readjusted every three or four casts.

whole lure spins
Date:
Had problems with this lure right out of the package. Instead of the back half spinning and splashing the whole lure would spin or nothing would spin and it would just drag through the water. It says right on the package that they guarantee performance but who wants to have to deal with mailing it in and hoping the next one works better. I like Salmo but they missed the boat on this one.

Requires on-going maintenance
Date:
This is a good top-water lure. It makes churning prop noise of a lower frequency than most top-water prop-equipped lures and this makes Salmo Turbo Jack a wanted piece in one’s tackle box. However, this lure often quits working and requires re-adjustment – which is no fun when it does it on “that important cast to a grand spot”.
The lure's prop fin is made of real thin steel and it bends closer to the lure body as it repeatedly hits water during normal casts. Another problem with this lure is that the lure rear side is not spinning sufficiently smoothly which creates an extra water resistance just enough to make the lure run on its side. I’d guess the axle wire that holds all parts of the lure together is not strong enough to withstand lure’s regular use - readjustment is also required (though not that often as the first problem I’ve described in my review).
Don’t be discouraged by this review – Salmo Turbo Jack is a good thing to have for muskie fishing, but be advised that you might need to do some on-going maintenance while casting…

don't have one then get one!
Date:
Excellent lure for those big Pike, takes a lil bit of rod to throw it but works great especially in the early mornings when those hogs are lying just under the surface.
