Consistent for Numbers of Fish
Date:
I mainly fish small ponds and lakes for largemouth, and this is a bait that has earned my respect over the last year or so of fishing. It makes a solid "chug" when you work it across the water, and it will draw serious strikes. While I have yet to catch a serious lunker on it, the lure has produced pretty consistent numbers for me. It has drawn some pretty vicious strikes from chain pickerel as well. I haven't tried it in winter, but when I'm on the water at other times of the year, the Pop-R is usually tied on to one of my rods. One downside is that the paint seems to be wearing off quickly.

Great for Topwater Bite
Date:
I tossed this lure one evening in the weedy shallows in mid-Maine over Labor Day weekend. Waht a blast. The largemouth were bashing it as it popped above them. Great fun, great lure. It was too weedy for the Mepps, so we had to go topside.

Pop-R-Fish, watch out!
Date:
One of the best top water lures on the market. I own over 20 varieties by Rebel. The feathery tail and the large popper head makes it a best bet to catch all types of fish. The only draw back is it is very difficult to use if you use a swivel.
