I've used the simple lightweight type from Brand "O" for several dozens of years and just bought these on a whim. They are actually more clumsy to use on the stream than the more basic simple ones. I'll keep it at home for a leader-tying nipper because it is orange and easy to locate.
I bought several pairs of cheaper nippers through out the year and wished I had bought these first. I would have saved money and had a quality pair of nippers. The grip is great, blade is sharp, and the eye clean out is handy. I fish 50-100 days a year and these will always be on my vest. Just bought my second pair for this year. Worth the money!
I have only had one fishing trip to test these but so far I really like them. The oversize finger grip makes it easy to position in the right direction. Also makes it easy to hold on to.
