The light & magnifier are very nice; however, the stand that comes with it is junk! I had to move my vise to the lamp, not the light to the vise. The lamp & magnifier are way to big for the stand and the springs that come with are so big they won't hold the light in place. The only reason I've kept the light, is that I had smaller springs laying around to make the light semi usefull.

I think the price is a bit high after using for awhile. Overall the unit is quite heavy if you have to set it up and take it down each time you use it. My lense is not clear, and while trying to remove it for cleaning, I found that removing/replacing the bulb is not super easy with the little clamps and screws that hold them in place. The lense appears to be 2 halves of glass attached to one another. It must be, for the fogginess I see in my lense is between the the 2 plates where cleaning cannot be done. Threw the box away before I realized this. Probably still going to take it back because I'm not happy with this. I don't recommend unless I just got unlucky with a bad one which would be a first for me with Cabela's products.

I would rate this product 4, or maybe 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that I had to contact the manufacturer to get it to work properly. When I first got it, it would not hold its position, which makes it pretty much worthless.
I contacted the manufacturer about this. After faxing a sales slip to prove that I had purchased their product, they sent me new springs which seems to correct the problem. Even with the new springs, though, I found that I am limited as to where I set up the lamp in order to get it to hold its position for my intended use (fly tying).
All in all, I think I'm going to like it.

Great lamp but big

This lamp does everything it's supposed to do and does it well. Good magnifier, strong tension in the springs that hold it in place, easy to adjust. All with an economical price!
Then why not 5 stars? Well, it's big and heavy, which is fine if it is permanently mounted. However, I unfortunately have to dismantle my fly tying station each time I use it and put it away in a closet. So, the size and weight becomes a factor for me. It would get the 5th star from me if I have a permanent installation.
