Dyna-King Barracuda Junior Trekker Vise

The lighter weight of the Junior Trekker makes it perfect for packing along in a backpack or in a travel bag for those long-distance fishing adventures. The rugged stainless steel construction ensures years of tying flies. It easily adjusts to lock in hooks from sizes 8/0 to 22 and has stainless steel ball bearings for smooth rotation. It also has an adjustable rotational drag, and it includes a bobbin hanger and super-stable pedestal base for tying almost anywhere.

Barracudad Jr.
Date:
I got one of these last month. I got it,for tying on large hooks and tying bass bugs. I did get the large c-clamp with it. This vise will not budge when tying on it.
I have been tying for about 45 years. If you are going to tie bass bugs or any deer hair flies you can not beat the Barracuda!!, you will bend the hook before you break you tying thread.. it is also a' MUST HAVE' for salt water flies.

Titan of a vice
Date:
Can't say enough positive things about this vice. I have literally tied thousands of flies with my dyna-king Barracuda and even though it is 6-7 years old it still feels like it is brand new. I'm not going to have to worry about a new vice for a long time. Now I'm thinking about getting the Barracuda Jr as a travel vice.

The same for less
Date:
Great tool! As good as its more expensive sisters. I would just like a drag screw a little more stable, but not a big deal.

Excellent vice
Date:
I am used to the standard old school vice, having never used a true rotary to date, tied a few flies this weekend using it and it seems to hold all sizes of hooks well right down to size 20 ( smallest I would use locally), built like a tank to boot, with precision bearing rotary unit. Highly rec'd for the price, personally not a big fan of spending $ hundreds $ on top of the line gear only to get minimal actual upgrades and results. This is bang for the buck plain and simple.
